Our department club, ELECSOL, and professional societies like IEEE and ISTE student chapters work tirelessly to organize a wide range of events that cater to diverse interests. From technical workshops on cutting-edge topics like IoT, AI in power systems, and robotics, to non-technical events like quizzes, hackathons, and cultural fests, there's something for everyone. Our events provide a platform for students to learn from industry experts, collaborate with peers, and showcase their skills. Technical Associations & Professional Chapters

The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering actively nurtures a culture of professional growth, research orientation, and technological excellence through its vibrant student chapters and technical associations. These bodies serve as platforms for students to gain global exposure, develop interdisciplinary skills, and stay aligned with emerging advancements in electrical engineering and allied domains.

IEEE Power & Energy Society (PES) 

The IEEE PES chapter focuses on empowering students with knowledge and skills in power generation, transmission, distribution, and smart grid technologies.  

  • Organizes expert talks, workshops, and industrial visits in power systems. 
  • Enhances understanding of sustainable and renewable energy solutions. 
  • Provides global competition and internship opportunities for students aiming for power sector careers. 

IEEE Power Electronics Society (PELS) 

The IEEE PELS chapter promotes learning in power electronics, converters, drives, and modern energy systems. 

  • Provides hands-on training on converters, power semiconductor devices, and control techniques. 
  • Encourages research in electric vehicles, power conversion, and energy-efficient systems. 
  • Supports students in presenting papers at international conferences and contests. 

IEEE Industrial Electronics Society (IES) 

The IEEE IES chapter bridges the gap between industrial automation and academic learning. 

  • Conducts training programs on industrial drives, PLC, SCADA, robotics, and automation. 
  • Improves student readiness for Industry 4.0 and smart manufacturing. 
  • Strengthens industry-academia collaboration through MoUs and technical sessions. 

IEEE Photonics Society 

This chapter emphasizes research and innovation in photonics, optoelectronics, fiber-optic communication, and related emerging technologies. 

Organizes distinguished lectures, research forums, and photonics-based project competitions. 

  • Provides exposure to cutting-edge technologies such as optical sensors, lasers, and integrated photonic circuits. 
  • Encourages interdisciplinary collaboration with ECE, CSE, and Physics departments. 

Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) Student Chapter 

The ISTE chapter enables holistic professional development and pedagogical excellence.

Conducts value-added programs, student development activities, and skill-enhancement workshops. 

  • Encourages innovation, problem-solving, and national-level competition participation. 
  • Supports faculty and students in adopting best practices in engineering education. 

Electrical Technical Association (ETA)

ETA is the in-house departmental technical association designed to strengthen students’ practical competency and leader 

  • Organizes technical fests, project expos, paper presentations, and circuit design contests. 
  • Facilitates peer learning, idea-sharing, and teamwork through student-led initiatives. 
  • Acts as a platform to convert classroom knowledge into real-time implementations.

Newsletters and Magazines

The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) publishes Vidyut, a technical newsletter, twice in every academic year. Vidyut serves as a platform to showcase and document various technical activities, including workshops, seminars, guest lectures, student projects, faculty achievements, research updates, and emerging trends in the field of electrical and electronics engineering. It encourages knowledge sharing, innovation, and technical awareness among students and faculty members.

In addition to this, the department also publishes a magazine titled Impulse, which is released twice in an academic year. Impulse focuses on non-technical and co-curricular activities, highlighting students’ creativity, cultural talents, literary contributions, achievements, social initiatives, and departmental events. The magazine provides a vibrant space for students to express their ideas, experiences, and perspectives beyond academics.

Together, Vidyut and Impulse reflect the holistic development of students by balancing technical excellence with creative and cultural expression, thereby strengthening the academic and social environment of the EEE department.
