The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) at VCE is a thriving community driven by innovation and curiosity. Our department club, ELECSOL, and professional societies like IEEE and ISTE student chapters work tirelessly to organize a wide range of events that cater to diverse interests. From technical workshops on cutting-edge topics like IoT, AI in power systems, and robotics, to non-technical events like quizzes, hackathons, and cultural fests, there's something for everyone. Our events provide a platform for students to learn from industry experts, collaborate with peers, and showcase their skills. With regular guest lectures, hands-on projects, and exciting competitions, we ensure that learning is engaging and fun. Stay tuned for updates on upcoming events and join us to explore the exciting world of EEE!
The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering actively nurtures a culture of professional growth, research orientation, and technological excellence through its vibrant student chapters and technical associations. These bodies serve as platforms for students to gain global exposure, develop interdisciplinary skills, and stay aligned with emerging advancements in electrical engineering and allied domains.
The IEEE PES chapter focuses on empowering students with knowledge and skills in power generation, transmission, distribution, and smart grid technologies.
The IEEE PELS chapter promotes learning in power electronics, converters, drives, and modern energy systems.
The IEEE IES chapter bridges the gap between industrial automation and academic learning.
This chapter emphasizes research and innovation in photonics, optoelectronics, fiber-optic communication, and related emerging technologies.
Organizes distinguished lectures, research forums, and photonics-based project competitions.
The ISTE chapter enables holistic professional development and pedagogical excellence.
Conducts value-added programs, student development activities, and skill-enhancement workshops.
ETA is the in-house departmental technical association designed to strengthen students’ practical competency and leader
Together, these chapters and associations create a dynamic ecosystem that:
The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) publishes Vidyut, a technical newsletter, twice in every academic year. Vidyut serves as a platform to showcase and document various technical activities, including workshops, seminars, guest lectures, student projects, faculty achievements, research updates, and emerging trends in the field of electrical and electronics engineering. It encourages knowledge sharing, innovation, and technical awareness among students and faculty members.
In addition to this, the department also publishes a magazine titled Impulse, which is released twice in an academic year. Impulse focuses on non-technical and co-curricular activities, highlighting students’ creativity, cultural talents, literary contributions, achievements, social initiatives, and departmental events. The magazine provides a vibrant space for students to express their ideas, experiences, and perspectives beyond academics.
Together, Vidyut and Impulse reflect the holistic development of students by balancing technical excellence with creative and cultural expression, thereby strengthening the academic and social environment of the EEE department.
